CSCS test ID requirements
Are you coming to sit your CSCS test with us soon? If so, you will need to know the CITB HS&E Accepted forms of ID. The ID requirements from CITB for sitting the Health and Safety test are very specific so it’s vital that you are aware of them before you come.
Please note – all ID documents must:
- *Be originals (no photocopies or digital copies – with the exception of an e-Visa)
- *Be in date (valid) at the time of being provided (not expired)
- *Be in the candidate’s name (which must match the name on the test booking)
Candidates will not be admitted for a test if the required forms of ID are not provided and the test fee will not be reimbursed
Primary ID Requirements
Candidates must provide one form of Primary ID. The Primary ID must include the candidate’s:
- *Full name
- *A recognisable photograph
- *Signature (with the exception of an e-Visa)
Choose one of the following:
- *Passport (UK or International)
- *Photocard Driving Licence (UK or European)
- *Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) or Biometric Residence Card (BRC) – only to be used as primary ID with a signature. (Following Home Office guidelines, cards expired on or after 31st December 2024 will be accepted until further notice)
- *eVisa
If candidates do not have the required form of Primary ID, they may present two forms of Secondary ID instead.
This must include one from List A and one from List B
Secondary ID
List A – Must be valid and include the candidate’s name and a recognisable photograph
- *Non-UK / Non-EU photocard driving licence
- *Passport without signature
- *European National Identity Card UK
- *CitizenCard or other proof of age card showing the PASS hologram
- *Young Scot Card showing the PASS hologram
- *CSCS card or CSCS partner card showing the CSCS Logo (hologram)
- *UK Armed Forces ID card
- *UK Armed Forces Veteran ID card
- *UK Home office travel document
- *Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) or Biometric Residence Card (BRC) without a signature. (Following Home Office guidelines, cards expired on or after 31st December 2024 will be accepted until further notice
List B – Must be valid and include the candidate’s name and signature
- *Credit card
- *Debit card
- *Paper Driving Licence (issued before 31 March 2000)
What if you don’t have any of the above?
If you do not have any ID from the lists above, please get in touch with us we’ll provide you with a CITB ID waiver form and explain how it works.
Candidates under he age of 16
If you are under 16 and wish to sit the HS&E test, please get in touch and we will provide you with an Under 16 Confirmation of Identification form and explain how to complete it.
