Completion of the SVQ level 4 – controlling lifting operations: Planning lifts will allow candidates with the CPCS / NPORS red trained operator card progress to the blue competence card.

The Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) in Controlling Lifting Operations: planning lifts (construction) at SCQF Level 9 allows candidates to demonstrate their competence in job-related skills in their particular area of work and expertise.

This qualification covers areas such as: Develop and maintain good working relationships; Plan lifting activities; Plan and establish safety, health, welfare and environmental systems for lifting operations; Plan work activities and resources to meet project requirements; Evaluate and confirm work methods; Plan the preparation of the site for the project; and Identify, allocate and plan the deployment and use of plant, equipment or machinery.
