Appointed Person Training & Testing

Aims & Objectives

The Appointed person course is designed to offer candidates the fundamental knowledge and practical skills to work as an appointed person allowing the candidate to carry out the planning, selection of cranes, personnel and lifting equipment necessary for the management of the lifting operation to the required standard as defined in BS7121 Code of practice part 1 (general) 1989.

Locations

Training can be carried out at our centre in Fife, or at your own site where criteria be met. CPCS testing must be carried out at our approved test centre in Fife however NPORS testing can be carried out at your own site providing site specifications can be met.

Who Should Attend

Anyone who needs to work as an Appointed Person or is involved in lifting operations .

Course Duration

A 1 day ‘test only’ can be carried out on candidates with relevant experience.

Training duration is dependent on the number of candidates, and each candidates previous experience.  Generally a novice candidate would require 4 days training on the  (this is based on 6 candidates with little or no experience) however this could be reduced with relevant experience.

Certification

This course can be delivered with either NPORS or CPCS accreditation. On successful completion of the course candidates will therefore receive certification per their preference. For further information on these schemes, please click here.
