CITB are making a few changes to their grant and funding offer from 8th January 2026. For further information view their grants and funding page.

We are delighted to announce that Kirsty has joined our team of trainers, bringing a real passion for learning and supporting others. This is a milestone moment for us, as Kirsty is our first ever female trainer – something we’re especially proud to celebrate in what has traditionally been a male-dominated field.

Kirsty’s skills, energy and fresh perspective will be a fantastic addition to the team, and we’re excited for the positive impact she’ll bring to our learners

Welcome to the team Kirsty!

It’s been a long time coming, but we’ve finally managed to get our vans fully signed-up and looking the part! They’re now proudly showcasing our brand wherever they go!

Next time you’re out and about, keep an eye out – you might just spot one of our shiny new vans on the road, or on a site near you!

(Thank you to our multi-talented trainer Brian for his photography skills)

CSCS tests in Fife

The CSCS test (also known as the CITB touch screen test) can be sat at our very own CITB approved test centre near Lochgelly in Fife.  The CSCS test is an important way for construction workers to show that they can be safe on the job.  It’s also a way for them to know that their fellow workers are as safe on the site and won’t put them at risk of injury.

For employers, having workers who’ve passed the CITB test is assurance that their workforce can continue to be safe at work

There are three types of CITB HS&E test:

  • Operatives
  • Specialists
  • Managers and Professional

About the Operatives CITB HS&E tests

The Operatives Health, Safety and Environment test ensures workers have a minimum level of health, safety and environmental awareness before going on site.

About the Specialist CITB HS&E tests

These CITB tests include questions about the five core knowledge areas as well as relevant questions in the chosen specialist areas. The Specialists test can be taken in the following topics:

  • supervisory (SUP)
  • demolition (DEM)
  • plumbing (JIB) (PLUM)
  • highway works (HIW)
  • specialist work at height (WAH)
  • lifts and escalators (LAEE)
  • tunnelling (TUNN)
  • HVACR – heating and plumbing services (HAPS)
  • HVACR – pipefitting and welding (PFW)
  • HVACR – ductwork (DUCT)
  • HVACR – refrigeration and air conditioning (RAAC)
  • HVACE – services and facilities maintenance (SAF)

About the Managers and Professionals CITB HS&E test

This test covers the same five core areas but also includes questions on the following topics:

  • Construction (design and management) regulations
  • Demolition
  • Highway works

Studying for your test

CITB have published a range of study materials for the tests including study books, DVDs, downloads and mobile phone apps. For further information about CITB training materials, contact Camilla Training or visit the CITB website.

Special assistance

You can choose to take your CITB test with the help of a voiceover audio recording in either English or Welsh. If you are sitting the operatives test you can choose from a further 12 languages. You will be provided with headphones so you can hear the test questions and possible answers in your chosen language. The questions and answers displayed on the screen will remain in English.

You can take the operatives test with the help of a video recording of a BSL signer which will play on screen during the test.

Certification

On completion of your CSCS touch screen test you will be given a score report identifying a pass or fail.  If you have been unsuccessful the score report will identify areas of weakness to allow further study prior to booking a resit.
